Dragon wins first Leg in Malta
#1
Congradualtions to Mike Shelton and Jackie Hunt for taking a commanding win in the first day of racing in Malta yesterday. In seas that ran 12-15 feet they won the Super Sport class by approx. 5 minutes and finished ahead of many of the Evolution class boats.
Great Job and good luck today in the second leg.

The Dragon was amazing :-)
The seas were pretty big with the largest being about 5-6m at the southern end of the course. Two people were taken to hospital with Rib and Back injuries.
The Dragon does kick ass ... we just need some bigger engines to compete in the Evolution class now.
The Outerlimits boat ran really well ... the 662 Mercury engines look like they are pretty good with the #6s

Endurance race ... normally 80nm, either around a circuit or a combination of circuit and long distance. E.g. Round the Island of Malta which is 40nm
The next day there is a sprint race, normally shorter, about 50nm. This is round the cans for the spectators
Second picture below .. quality is poor but shows what the start was like :-)
