Default Top Gun at Houghton Lake, MI

Just curious if the owner of a Top Gun sitting in front of a cottage on M55 in Prudenville happens to be a board member. The boat is white with some red graphics.

Isn't Houghton a pretty shallow lake for a big offshore?

Houghton is pretty much like st. Clair.......shallow (10-12 ft avg depth) but big enough to run a "big dog"

I have ran houghton lake about a dozen times in past 8 years when the dnr was turning away boaters at higgins (lake was full ),the west launch was barely 2 feet deep going out, really wouldn't want to run a labbed prop, almost had to walk boat out,Smitty

Pretty much my impression when I travelled by there several years ago.

No doubt it is a shallow lake especially later in the summer.

Born and raised on HL. Average depth is 8 feet last I knew, with the deepest point being the north east corner. West bay is ok to play in, but it still gets weedy fast.

Stay on Higgins Lake, much deeper!
