Default scarab viper question

I have a Scarab viper ,91 that I bought empty,hull only.
I was just looking at the running surface ,and was suprised that is is having about 12 ft pad in the bottem.
3 ft from the transon the pad becomes rounded off instead of flat, and there is a hook build into.
Did Wellcraft made the hook?if so why did they made it rounded off ?
Is this hull bow flighty without the hook ?
I don,t like a hook ,and want to made it 100% flat ,but unless it is original, and people that owned one can claim its original ,than I maybe better leave it like it is.

thanks A.J

Actually, I believe some hulls were made with a hook and some without, depending on the type of drives. I could be mistaken, but I am pretty sure. I don't know if they were still doing that as late as 91.
