Default Can Gen VI Tall Big Block Chevy be Swapped for 496?

I was wondering if a Gen VI Tall Big Block Chevy "long block" (such as the 572) be swapped in for a 496, less intake, exhaust, and ignition. They are both tall block Chevy's, and I've heard the motor mounts and bell housing mountings are the same. I'm not sure about the mounting bosses for the accessories, though.

Your Ex will work but you need Metric bolts to install them. The accessories will not bolt on but the starter and bellhousing will using Metric bolts.

I don't think I stated this clearly. I would replacing the 496 with the Chevy Tall Block. It sounds like the 496 uses metric bolts, and none of the accesories would fit due to different bolt hole locations?
