Default Chip for my F-350 7.3L question

I'm nearing the end of my warranty for my 7.3 PSD and I am looking for input as to which chip will give me the best mileage non-towing and the most power towing. Lets hear from those that are in the know.

I have a 6 position Bully Dog chip in my 7.3PSD. I am happy with it, but I may look into a custom tune from SCT eventually.

I get about 14mpg non-towing in my 2000 CC 4WD 4.10 Dually. I get about 8.5mpg towing 12K+ lbs. My truck is the LE edition with a factory front visor over the windshield which probably hurts the mileage a bit too. (These are accurate and recent figures as I just roundripped VA to FL over the past 3 days. Truck has 78,000 miles now.)

I get the same mileage give or take on stock setting as I do with the 50HP+ setting, towing and not towing. The 50HP+ setting makes much better use of the turbocharger. I also have TrueFlow Foam intake system and MBRP 4" dual exhaust.

A triple gauge pod is MUST MUST MUST. You need trans. temp, EGT, and boost gauges.

I hardly ever use the 80HP+ or 120HP+ settings unless someone pisses me off and I want to soot all over them. It runs like a scalded monkey when turned up to 120HP+. (So much so that I would love to have a 7.3 PSD in a 2WD short bed regular cab F-250 as a street sleeper/toy.) The High Idle setting comes in handy in the winter months when it needs a little more juice to warm up at idle. I never use the 6th position which is 'valet' mode which is stock tune and 70mph speed limiter.

Here is a pic from yesterday's Bikini Boat & Truck Wash:

SCT is mainly for a 6.0. But you can get custom tunes for a 7.3 as well. You need a 6 position chip so you can shift on the fly instead of loading and unloading like you have to do with a tuner.

Sorry but Bullydog is junk. Its generic cookie cutter tuning. If you want the best you need to get hold of DP tuners or TS performance. They are the best when it comes to the tuning a7.3. Just call one of these tuners and they will be able to answer all of your questions. You can get a high idle setting, stock , 40 hp, 80 hp 100hp and 120 hp.

Have a Banks on my 6.0 which they also make units for the 7.3. Did not affect the warranty. They just disconnected it and said it was the root of my problems and charged $200.00.
