Default what can i expect to pay for insurance?

Im looking at a 32-35' used early 90's performance boats with either 454's or 502's and a price range of about $40k. Ive founda few but dont my financing secured just yet. Can someone provide me with an IDEA of what its going to cost to insure one of these. Ive got a good driving record but my license was suspended two years ago for not paying a ticket that i didnt know i got (long story) but the ticket wasn't a moving violation, it was a tag issue. Ive got insurance on my truck but never had to buy boat insurance, am I going to get raped?

I just firmed up my Insurance a couple hours ago in preparation for my purchase this weekend.

26 year old, Male, No Tickets, No Accidents, 1990 Cafe Racer with Twin Blown 600's, Value of 60k, No Layup time, Including Trailer, Liability of 300,000, Deductible of 1,000. Unfortunately they couldn't consider me a previous boat owner because they were never in my name.

Premium is $73.16/Month

To lower the deducible to 500 increased my premium to $82ish.

I didn't shop around, just went with our agent because I figured I wouldn't do any better.

Shawn,

I just filled out the online app for a 28 Pantera I am hoping to purchase this summer. I'm 25, but have been driving boats for 10 years so maybe cut me some slack

I would definitely get some definitive quotes. Insurance is a big component of ownership and I really feel that my rate is probably below what most pay, especially considering my age.

Hey guys, i'm new here but I just got coverage on my new boat last week. I just turned 24, got an '88 fountain 10 meter and my premium was just under $700. I had a checkmate for 4 years and over 10 years experience lifetime...plus USCG certification, clean driving record (somehow), etc. Boat is all stock/original so the value is pretty low. Just a reference for you.

Andrew,

I am trying Your age is a factor and the other operators are not helping. I emailed you a boating resume that I need back before I can release a quote. I will try to get a couple options for you.
