Price for 383 merc crate motor and details

Anyone got an approximate price for a 383 merc motor? My fresh motor lasted all of 5 minutes before destruction.

Also estimate for pricing for a 350. I am not interested in building another motor for this boat, it is going to be sold ASAP.

At this time I am not going to share details how my motor failed. I will wait and see how the "dust" settles.

I happen to have a FWC 350 Crusader long block that I got in trade. Was from a Diesel conversion and motor is perfect.
PM me if interested....

This included the drive? Not a bad deal at all if it is a complete drive unit!

i think those 383 motors from mercury are not brand new engines but rebuilds from them.

Here is a link to the 383 page on our site, hope it gives a clearer idea of what you are getting. We have sold a bunch of them. No problems to date, everyone has reported great performance.

I like Marc and he is very helpful, but I am getting a motor bulit by one of the very best in the buisiness built to tighter tolerances and balanced to within 1/2 of a gram for about half of what that goes for . Of course supplying the block and vortech head cores Gm used to offer a marineized 383 ready to drop in, but did not sell enough of them and ceased production. This really is the missing link that I need to put in a 27' cruiser that just needs about 75-100 more horsepower and more importantly the torque that comes from the stroke, without the added cost of going big block and related accessories... BBB
This is the perfect motor
