Default 502 Mpi?

I am considering the purchase of a 502 MPI. The engine was in a 31 Formula and one of the engines blew. I am considering the purchase of the non blown engine. Exhaust and mans are new.
Anyone have experience with this engine? Pros? Cons? things to have looked at prepurchase?

Thanks
Brian

That is the same engine i have in my 280. Rock solid for over 300 hrs now. Changed the oil ever 25hrs,plugs and thermostat every spring. It's been a turn key engine (no worrys) great engine for me.

Same here .. My only comment would be why did other one blow if it was big hours then at least go throught the top end.
Valves and springs get weak. While it is out do a good valve job replace any weak or worn parts!
