Default need prop advise, 42 fountain

Just got the boat, 2005 42 Fountain Exec., has 32 pitch 4 blade props and I am having trouble getting on plane with weight. Props will not grab. Fountain says to start with tabs all the way down and trim all in. Tried this weekend and still struggles. The boat has staggered 525s. Any recommendations for new props that will get me on plane quicker and still achieve 80 mph. Thanks

It is possible that 5B would be a possibility on an 05. Post your performance data with the Bravo I's and I can take a look.

Boat is suppose to run 84 mph with stock props, but the best I have seen the last month since owning has been 80. It is a little heavier than most with a gen. Probably weighs close to 11k lbs with 1/4 fuel. I do not have the performance report that Fountain does for every boat after building as I bought this boat pre-owned. Thanks

Call the factory and they will fax the report over to you. All you need is your Hull#.

I think I get about 5200 rpm out of the 32's. I also believe they are bravo 1 props. I will get a report sent from Fountain and post on another post this week to give more details.

if top end isnt a must or big concern, then the 5 bld maximus props. hands down. 30" pitch x 15 5/8 then lab it . i have put these props on about 7 fountains same length and smaller. some with more power.

There are several props that will achieve several goals. We should establish our goals and then go from there.
