Default Exhaust, help!

Well, I picked up the 22' Stingray SVS 220 on Friday and I took it out today for a little run and it seems to run very smoothly. My wife thought that there seemed to be an inordinate amount of exhaust coming out though. I have never had a boat with thru-hull exhaust before and I don't know if the apparent smoke coming out of the exhaust pipes is water vapor or if the exhaust is just visible. Is this normal?

The cooler the air and lake water, the more steam you will get.
