Default Pax River Boaters - Battle Creek now closed!

Sad to say it, but i just got word that Battle Creek beach and all the property surrounding it has been turned over to the state. They put up fencing all around the beach so you can no longer pull boats up to it. I guess rafting up is the only option left on the patuxent

i was just there sunday and there were no signs of any changes. There were probably 20-30 boats there at any given point throughout the weekend. Apparently they put up the fences on tuesday or wednesday.

Maybe if they had some of the money they have made me pay in taxes the last year on boats they would have been able to keep it open

If the state bought it, why would they fence it off? I wonder what they intend to do with it. To bad it was a nice spot on the Patuxent river.

It is a fact. Scott Glockner, if you know him, saw it earlier this week, plus one of my co-workers lives on that creek. They are also putting in a bunch of eco-system friendly, "natural" trees and plants around the beach. I guess those tards don't realize that the high tides we get in the fall will destroy anything they plant there.
