When I bought the boat, it had no props on it and the owner had a set of 25p mirages that he used to test the boat. I bought a set of 25 labbed mirages and Im only getting low 60's and 4000 rpm. What size should I be running??
twin 454's with bravo 1's.
Also, i have to really baby her while taking off from the dock because it wants to cavitate and just spin the props.
Where should I be with these? Shouldnt I be able to get closer to 4500 or 4800 rpm and 70mph? According to sunsation it had a set of 14x25's mirages from the factory and could run 70-72 stock.
Any help?

Pretty boat! I love those MI boys.
25's at 4600 and 71 mph would be 2.2% slip. That's not going to happen. However, at 61 mph you are still under 5% slip and that is too good too.
Make sure your tach and speed are dead nuts and we can go from there.
23 Rev 4's would be a option. We can send some test props when you are ready.

Agreed the Bravo 1 propellers are far and away the most popular on this hull. But nobody has given the Rev 4 a chance. Beyond that, he's running under 5% now for goodness sake. (that needs to be varified)
These boats can be touchyyyy with chine walk. 5 blades can make or more often break the control.

So what could i expect with the rev 4's? According to hotboat and powerboat magazines in 93 when they tested this boat they were getting between 70 and 72 setup the same way i am and almost 80 with the mags. i did find the chinewalk though but a little trim settled it back down. With the rev4's will i see a higher speed and rpm or am i just as good as its going to get with the bravos and 454's?
