Is it important that you be that close to Tribeca or soho?

The New Yorker is in midtown and is pretty inexpensive by NYC standards, but not the nicest place.

You have to try Priceline.com . I got a room in Midtown (near Radio City M.H.) at the Hilton once for $110 on a Sat nite. When I showed up with my girlfriend the Lobby was packed, come to find out its the night before the Grammy's and every big shot was at the hotel. Needless to say the chick I was with took good care of me that night.............

You gonna pick up a few fashion tips in Soho?

All good suggestions. Of course we have tried hotels.com and the others. Red Roof could work.

It does need to be at least NEAR SoHo/Tribeca.

Did you try looking at any hotels in Paula's hook in Jurzy......... Take the path into WTC and hop on any train......... Its an idea, dont know how much it is to stay there but it does offer some of the greates views of lower manhatten.
