Default Chevrolet Dealers - 2500HD Classic

I'm looking at a 2007 Silverado 2500 HD 4wd Crewcab Classic LT1 w/ Duramax / Allison combo. It has a MSRP of $42,163.00 + $900.00 destination charge for a total sticker of $43,063.00.They are willing to sell me the truck for $38,893.00 - $2,000 rebate - $500.00 Farm Bureau discount = $36,383.00. They are willing to have leather interior installed in it for that price as well.

They also priced a new body style 2007 Silverado 2500 HD Crewcab LT1 w/ Duramax / Allison combo with a MSRP of $46,148.00 + $900 destination charge = $47,048.00. They are willing to sell it for $43,079.13 - $1,500 rebate - $500.00 Farm Bureau discount = $41,079.13.

Is this a good deal? Should I go with the classic or the new body style? Will there be any difference in value between the classic and the new body style when I trade it in 3 yrs?

Chad

You used to be able to get dealer invoice on Kelly Blue Book's website www.kbb.com

They also had all the discounts, rebates & loyalty money listed there as well. You should be able to buy just about anything for that number minus the discounts & rebates. You can always start by offering them less.

Those both seem like pretty good deals Chad! I bought an '05 that had a sticker of 47K for 41K out the door back in Jan of '05. But, 50K miles later it's still a great truck!!!! Nothing but oil changes....and some bling!

The price on the '07 Classic is now down to $34,875.00 w/ leather, as compared to $41,079 for the new body style. That is $6,200.00 difference. The invoice on the Classic is $38,893.85. The industry guys say that in 3 years there will not be $6,200.00 difference in trade in value. Most likely it will be less than $1k.

I like the looks of the new body style too, but I'm not sure that $6,200 in my pocket wouldn't make the classic look that much better.

I'm undecided.....

I haven't gotten the price back on a 2500 Ram yet.

I would say keep your $6200 in your pocket and run with the classic.

FYI- I bought a 07 classic (CC/SB, duramax, 4x4, LT1) in september of last year, sticker was 44k, my price out the door with tax & title was 40k even.

If you have any interest in upgrading the power level, get the classic. The LMM motor in the new body style has a lot more emision equipment that can't be bypassed (yet). The cat and the egr systems on the classic with the LBZ can be easily bypassed before installing another 100+ hp chip (like edge juice).

My buddy and I just each bought the 2007.5 new body HD2500 4WDs with LMM Duramax and Allison.
His LT-1 crew cab with many options (including sun roof) was 39,890 after rebates.
My LTZ with everything but nav and sun roof was $43,531 (of course that was pre lift and wheels )

You can probably get a much better deal on a Cassic (and it won't have the DPF filter) and it probably makes good sense but I just couldn't bring myself to spend $40k+ for something that looks 3-4 years old. But that's just me...

Here's a near exact clone of mine

(By the way, I am beta testing for Edge Products a Juice/Attitude on my LMM motor as we speak. I don't have it turned up past level 3 of 6 but it feels like a race car!!)

You are getting a good deal placed infront of you on both trucks if the "sell it today" includes the $900 destination markup, I mean charge. No matter what price anyone gets, the "stealership" will make money or they will let you walk. I feel there is still room for negotiation based on seeing some dealers on ebay claiming $6K, $7K and $8K off MSRP.

Good Luck!

Chad have you driven that truck yet? I just sold mine, it had the worst turning radius of any vehicle I have ever owned.

I bought mine from Gregg Dunn, Dunn Chevy in Ohio. He gave me a great deal. Call him he will give you the straight scoop.

Thanks for the info guys.

Steve- I agree the turning radius leaves a lot to be desired. I think my Dodge 3500 Quad Cab dually had a better turning radius.
