Just wondered what other OSO members do when it comes to keeping boats in the water for a period of time. How long in the water at one time is it considered "bad" for the bare hull?

I would figure that most keep their boats in the water for just the day. I've got a lakehouse so the boat sits in the water from Saturday to Sunday. On holidays its Saturday to Monday. Basically from when I get to the lake till the time I leave. The hull gets a coffee stain on it if you don't take care of it, but nothing some good cleaners can't take care of.

At the lake, usually 1-2 days (unless it's a long holiday weekend). On the river, no more than a day. Anymore than that, and good luck getting the yellow out.

I have a Shore Station, it allways out of the water, but still pull the boat from time to time to really clean her up good.

A month or so at a time. The bottom gets nasty, but it cleans up.

1-2 days. Now that I've got the whips installed on my dock I usually drop it in Friday afternoon and pull it out Sunday. Cleans up fine as long as you get after it as soon as it comes out of the water. I also use a brush to knock the scum line off every morning while its in the water.

1 to 2 days tops. Usually dropped in the morning and out the next unless we go out 2 days in a row, boatel kept. The other stays in a lift slip, so only when we go out.

I take mine out of the water every night. I just feel better knowing it is in the garage at night, and nobody can screw with it. We wipe it down every evening in the driveway.

Usually goes in Friday night and comes out Monday morning.
I'm in salt water any longer than that and I start seeing barnacles looks like little sand grains they suck to get off. i don't have the luxury of trailering or a lift 51' I get her craned in and out.

Only in the water when we're on it. All other times it's on the lift. It's the only way to go! No more launching, retreiving, etc. Raise the lift, wipe it down and ready for the next outing.
