i have one engine out of my boat. pros and cons to putting a drain line with valve or plug on the bottom of oil pan so you can pass it threw the drain plug to change oil.no mess??

I have them on my boat They were put in by the dealer when I bought my boat.They kinda scared me at first but they don't leak

No cons. All pros. Definitely go ahead and install it.

The only issue is when you pull that plug, even after draining all the oil out via the dipstick, you are still going to have roughly 1/2 to 3/4 of a quart in the pan that is going to come out of the drain hole. Be ready for this mess.

No cons. all positive. It was the cheapest thing I ever did to my boat, that saved me the most time and effort. No pump no mess. Oil goes outside the boat. etc etc. You will be really glad that you did it every time that you change the oil

I love it. Get the boat out of the water after a good run and open the fill cap, pop a hole in the filter, and snake the drain tube out the transom and as far down into a bucket or whatever you want to use. Come back in an hr and its empty....completely.

I have those on my boat; I do however keep the hoses elevated, just feel better about it - Jeff

I did see one bad thing once with them, the fitting that goes into the oil pan is BRASS and it had a crack in the fitting. Luckly is was a slow leak and he found it. If it had split all the way at 5000 rpm motor would not have lasted long.

I have one on each mills on my rig.

That's the way to go.

One one boat we have them so we feed them threw the bilge plug hole to change out the oil, and the other we have hooked up to a Holley blue with valves to pump out the oil.
