Custom Engine Hatches

Is there a place that makes fiberglass custom hatches or anything similar. The wood seems to go bad too quick from the water. Is it possible to have one made out of fiberglass then add the padded covering so it lasts longer.

This is a lead on a great F/G guy. Dave build my hatches, worked on the bottom, stringers, new deck, bulkheads, transom and numerous misc FG projects for me for over 10 years.

I am making mine out of aluminum with a couple of braces on top covered with foam and vinyl. It should weigh alot less than the traditional wood covers and I know it will outlast the rest of the boat.
