Default merc 5 bladded stainless prop ?? hmmm

Just was wondering if anybody has run them on there boat, are they a decent prop. What kind of boats did they come on and how can i tell what pitch it is and it doesn't seem to be on the prop any where. I have a chance to pick one up super super cheap, would like to try it untill I save up to by the right prop for the boat, just curious if it will work better then the 3 bladed quicksilver I have now.

Thanks John

I do a ton of wake boarding and I have heard from several people the Merc high5 work very well for high torque situations such as that. Nearly everyone across the board says they cause a couple MPH loss though. There are couple prop experts on here that will have good advice as well I am sure.

I use the High Five on my OB ski boat. They work great for their application.

I assume you are referring to the High 5 prop. It's a great prop for watersports. You will lose a few mph on the top end, but it's designed for pulling skiers, tubes, etc so top speed should not be a consideration with this prop.
