We were at the first turn in Sarasota and #15 was haulin the mail right behind Geico and in front of Bud Select, but once they made the turn it looked like it slowed down and we never saw it come by again. Probably mechanical failure, but what was it this time? Same thing happened last year. I wish they'd get some reliable high power in that thing because when it does run it is definitely a super fast boat and would be really cool to at least see run a full race against the cats.
Also, did Geico break something as well? They were really hauling in the first couple laps and then looked like they slowed down a lot and were just staying even with the Miccossukee V.
I'd have to say the start of the second race was probably the most exciting part of a race I've seen in Sarasota in 10 years. Just wish some of the big boats would have stayed around for longer.

Sharkey held a Voodoo hex party and cast a spell on the Fountain team that they just couldn't overcome. Their engine suddenly revved to 18,000 rpm, let out a loud "meeeeoooowww" and put out 3 and 1/2 puffs of smoke.
Ever since Reggie kicked Sharkey's azz in Key West 2004, Tim has held a grudge.

Still Crazy,
We were required to start behind everyone due to an infraction in Marathon. Despite this we chased down Killer and passed him. Unfortunatly, we were experiencing some high temperature readings after lap 2 and had to slow down to a hundred for the remainder of the day to ensure we finish all our laps. Killer also had engine issues that restricted their rpm. Looking forward to some great battles with Select, Killer and Cintron at future races. Just wait till we open Miss Geico up.

You were definitely moving on those first two laps, it's amazing to see the speed differential of you unlimited guys when you open it up and pretty much everyone else. Maybe we'll see a good battle with you, Bud Select and Killer in Key West this year? Is everybody going?
One other question for you Maximus - you brought both the MTI and Platinum to Sarasota but only raced one. Is the Platinum just a back-up boat now or do you have plans to still race it? Bud Select did the same thing with their MTI. A couple of pretty fast back-up boats. I wish someone else would race them along with you guys, the more boats the more exciting it is to watch. Kind of expensive for a single team to race two boats though I guess.
Thanks again for the great show!!

They jinxed themselves by having the 1st Place Trophy already engraved with Cat Killer on it before the race even started...
Don't take my word for it, hear what the winner had to say:
I still like that Key West pic though!
Congratulations Team CINTRON !!!

We were just touching 140 down the straight. As you saw we put it up a couple of times. The Bud team is the benchmark Scotty and I are working towards. True proffessional racers. Like David K and Mike S in "Killer" hard drivig pro's. There is no doubt you will see some unbelievable battles in upcoming events. As for the backup boats. I know it may seem extreme for teams to have back up but it 's good business at this level of sponsorship. Fielding two boats would be very diffiicult and exspensive. Preperation testing and fielding an extreme boat for these races is a daunting task. More boats will come as offshore settles down a bit and the racers unite, 2008 will be exciting for sure.
Thank you for being a fan I'm sorry we couldn't have ripped 11 hot ones off for you guys last weekend.
Discovery was filming last weekend and are putting together a show on what it takes to get an extreme boat to the water between races. Should be good.
Detroit Unlimited Hydro race next weekend with the Pro Series.
Regard's
Marc

Don't take my word for it, hear what the winner had to say:
Then if that was bad enough, they put INSTIGATOR as the winner in Fountain's Press Release...
I still like that Key West pic though!

Sharkey, Do you have a link to Fountain's press release? The day Oso put it up I didnt see it on Fountains website...

I didn't find it there either. (Strange)
It was sent to OSO and OSO posted it under the OSO News. Once OSO was made aware that the release had non-factual information within the contents, they removed the Press Release from the OSO Site.

So it was a OSO press release or a Fountain press release?
