Default HP boating and tubing

Damn, should i even be saying that in the same breath?
Either way, what boats could you do it with?
Is skiing in a basic form even possible?

I wouldn't have wanted to be behind my 24 bbc w/ as loud as it was.
The boat couldn't hold plane at tubing speeds(less than 22-25).
And i wouldn't want to put that stress on my drive(skiing at least).

I've tubed once or twice with my boat. Like you said, maintaining + or - 20 MPH is hard. I put my k-planes all the way down and I'm not quite on plane.

I've slalom skied and wakeboarded behind a friend's Baja 290 w/ twin blown 454's.
Wakeboarding was OK as the boat didn't need to be on plane to do it and the wake was epic!

Storm.....

when I bought the Pantera it was specifically with the intent to be a compromise boat and replace the 25 daytona AND 21 Tige Inboard skiboat I owned at the time.

My logic was that a longish heavy hull single with k planes could stay on plane at 20ish to get the job done. I've owned runabouts and they just don't seem happy attitude wise till you are north of 25.

So I did use the Pantera that way, seems like I could GPS down to 18-19 or so but it's been a while. 20-22 would be a breeze. My family was wakboarding at 20-22 anyway. You'll be hard pressed to get a decent ski wake and a perf boat that will stay on plane at 20ish.

That said- my 30 Daytona with the 5 blades lays a beautiful ski wake at 30-35, but with present power/setup the skier would need a snorkel and some stamina to actually get up with the boat

My brother in law has skied behind my 272 Formula and my blown 311 Formula. 200 lbs up and sking on a singe ski before the boat was on plane.

We use to ski behind my boat with 600hp 125ft rope, tube to we would run high 20s like 28 to 45 to 50 but I'm to broken to do it know. maybe next summer my wake was hugh at 28 and this was always in ocean chop up to 3footers. but the 125ft rope made a much better ride. art
