Has anybody had any experience with Toyo Open Country MT tires. I currently run Goodyear MT/R's and I was considering the Toyo's because of the higher load rating and supposedly quieter ride. I did notice that they weigh about 12lbs more per tire than the goodyears.

they lasted me less than half the mileage other tires do.

I replaced them with Pro Comps and are very happy. I also am running a pair of Generals in my opinion they both put the Toyos to shame.

Of course Michelin still the best a all around.

I just put them on my 3500 srw chevy. They were the only thing I could find with E rating in a 305/55/20. Only about 5 k in 30 days on them. Will see how they last.

Wanted Michelins because that is what I always run on all other trucks I own, but no 20's in my size

I have them on my h2 and they ride great. I have about 15k miles and the tread is about half gone.

WOW So far it looks like they don't last very long !!! I have over 60K on my Goodyears. Looks like I might be sticking with the Goodyear MT/R's.

I had a set on my F350. Didn't last long at all. About 20K!
I also thought they sucked in the ride too.

What did you expect for an M/T? I had 37's on my last truck and 33's on the one I have now. THey seem to do pretty good but it's like you mentioned about the load capacity.

They grip very well and ride nice but they're soft- one of the compromises you make to get those qualities. It does decrease the lifespan.

I always like to stay with a tire that's easily replaced. I put Nitto's on my son's truck. a couple months later, one got cut. Took almost 3 months to get a replacement. They were back-ordered from Japan.

You'll never have that problem with BFG's or Goodyears. Also, Mickey Thompson has some new tires in the SUV/ on-off highway range with good load ratings.

I would expect these or any M/T tire that is used for mostly highway driving to last at least 40K. My Goodyears are at 60K and could probably make it to 65-70 if I pushed them.

The fact that the Toyo's are wearing out at 30K or less is dissapointing especially considering a price of over 230.00 for a 35" tire on a 16" rim.

I guess I will buy another set of Goodyears and get another 60K out of them. Here's a note about my tires though. I had them "siped" at Discount Tire Co. They say that it will make them last longer and it sure has made a big difference in the rain for me. I run them on a F-350 diesel.

My two brothers have tire stores & the Toyo's are the best & resonable price also. I've had the 355's on a F-350 & currently have them on my H-2. Also had the 305's on two F-350's & one F-250. The tires are great. If your going on a trip & not towing or haulin anything drop the psi down to 35-45 the ride is great. Toyo's is all I'll use on my 4x4's. By the way both of my brothers tire stores are independant stores. So I have my pick of any tire on the US market.
