OK - Everything's looking good, but I need some advice as to where to launch and stay in Grand Haven. If we use a ramp, the towing company will charge me $100 plus the ramp fee. If we use a TraveLift, I'm sure it will be even more expensive ($5/foot? x 38 feet), so what to you locals recommend?
Also, which are the best marinas in terms of cleanliness, showers, etc? It's all about making sure that the Admiral is happy!

Well, the Municipal ramp is $7...so that's $107!!
Check into the Wharf Marina for a Travellift...don't know for sure, but I'd bet they have one.
As for places to stay...if I'm not mistaken, that's during the Coast Guard Festival...you'd better start looking hard for slips, because from what i hear, that get's a LITTLE crowded! We stayed at the Municipal Marina...location was AWESOME...right downtown off the river and across from the dancing fountains! Facilities were clean as well...eats were well within stumbling distance.

Sounds like your having the boat shipped here for some fall boating. Great idea. You may want to try Grand Isle Marina in Grand Haven, they have a LOT of slips. The municpal launch right off us 31 is very nice. KS

Thanks everybody! It now looks as if we'll be offloading at the Municipal ramp in South Haven on Saturday the 4th, and reloading at the Grand Haven Municipal ramp on Sunday the 12th. Look for us anywhere on the dates in between:

Thanks for all the help over the last several months, guys. The boat is on it's way, and I'll be leaving shortly. Hope to see some of you out there!
