Default JE SRP piston identification needed

I tore down my engine and what I thought were original Merc 425's, had pistons that have no part # but on the bottom side it says, "JE SRP 73F"

Would this be the 142973. 0.060" over flat top piston?

Rookie,
The "JE SRP 73F" number does not mean anything. It identifies the basic forging, which is used for many different piston part numbers. There should be a part number either on the top of the piston, or on the bottom side of the piston pin boss. If there are no numbers, the only way to really identify it is to measure the compression hieght, diameter, ring sizes etc and compare it to the JE catalog.

Hope this helps,
