Default Show me your lift bunks

My next door neighbor brought home his new toy today, a gorgeous 2006 Top Gun Unlimited. He has a new 16,000 lb lift and we we setting up the bunks today.

Look at this crappy system they sent. It doesn't fit right at all so I took some pics to send to the manufacturer.

How does your look?

I think he's going to end up spending the money for a Myco cradle.

Thoughts?

Thats clearly not set up correctly. I would take the boat off of it right now. He doesn't want something to fail and mess up the boat. The boat isn't centered on the bunks and that causes more weight to one side so the lift isn't balanced correct, and it shouldn't be resting on the strakes either.

If I had a Top Gun Unlimited it would be sitting on a MYCO Lift Cradle

it is the only pic I have of the 04 Nortech. It fit perfectly, also has the additional platform for changing out props and so on. Jeff

The boat is too far back on the lift, get the cg of the boat and put in on the CG of the lift, for and aft, side to sidn't isn't a big deal. Second, get both bunks under the lifting strakes, best place to lift a boat is under the strakes. This came from Cig themselves when I was in the biz. Also looks like the geometry of the bunks is not right to fit the bottom of the boat.

You are gonna develop the Hook of all hooks without that beauty being supported at the back. My apache is a straight V and the long bunks come just beyond the back of the transom. My neighbor has Fountain/stepped that is set up correct, I can take a pic next weekend.

Exactly,

Order it, install it, and enjoy the benefit of it.
