Was the engine dynoed? You may not have enough gitty up to see that speed. My pachanga has a bone stock 330 horse 454 with a alpha ss, spinning a 25-3 blade 67.4 mph. I would think you would be faster than me.

Never dynoed the motor, engine builder claimes its pushing 450 + HP. Whats got me is that originally I had a stock 350 that came with the boat at the time I bought it. And I was getting 65 mph on the GPS with a Quicksilver “cleaver” propeller (3) blade, stainless steel , but I spun the baring doing it.

Switch to a single plane, like a Dart.
And I did not see what kind of exhaust, stock?

I'm interested in propeller experiences on this boat.
I have installed a 496 HO with Bravo 1.50 ratio drive in a customer's P-22. The prop was a Bravo I 24p out of the box. The prop delivered a great midrange and hit 60 kts @ 5k rpm (69 mph), the boat was steady with a slight tendency to chine when hitting top speed. The prop was a great choice in regards to the guy being a little older and not a top skilled driver
My own P-22 has a HP 450 clone with Bravo I XR drive, 1.50 ratio. Ignition system will allow the engine to rev up to 5250 before hitting limiter. Due to unavailability of B1 24 p I took a chance and tried a 26 p instead. The boat accelerates at least as good as with the 496/24p but it feels like running higher with the stern causing the boat to chine walk already at 63 or so mph.
I was thinking about labbing the B1 to get some bow lift but it looks like 1BIGJIM has the prop key to speed. How does it run at top speed? Any other suggestions?
