Default Lake Travis July/August Poker Run

This is an email from 'Lake Travis Powerboat Association'

Message:
Friday, 20 July 2007

Because the July Poker Run needed to be cancelled, the Lake Travis Powerboat Association has moved up the date for the August Poker Run.

The August Poker Run will be held on Saturday, August 11th.

We will be making the traditional July run on this date. Carlos'N Charlies to Ridge Harbor and back. Carlos 'n Charlies is adding $5k into the pot for this run. Victory Marine and Tito's Vodka are sponsors for this run as well. All thi$ will amount to better than normal prize$.

At the Ridge Harbor stop, we will be having a number of contests as well as food available.

We are looking forward to a great run on the 11th and hope to see everyone there.

Anyone know any details on the run? Will have 2 couples in the boat. Can each couple get a poker hand? Are extra cards available for purchase?

$3600!! damn nice payout!!

I won $250 from the keychain giveaway myself..

It was a great day, we met up with Jared with his fiance and best friend on his red Checkmate 25 and my cousins happened to be coming thru town and joined me andmy girlfriend on my boat.
I had gone to a few of the stops at previous poker runs before but never run a whole one.
Was a lot of fun , I figure it was around 60miles total .
I was only going 40-45mph because of my girlfreind and because my boats only 21ft !
We were flying a lot of the time,
boat lands real nice at that speed though, only once or twice in the whole run
did it land hard..
Of course at that speed you big boys go by like we were standing still!
There were two stops and we spend the time between the stops floating in the water with the pack at Cow Creek .
Finally we made it back to Carlos and Charlies for the final stop, food and drinks and my $250!!
Later we went to devils cove to float and relax.
Came home late and totally tired.
Was a nice day, nice run and nice people..
