Bugs have not been a problem this year at all. You should have stayed at Treasure Cove Resort. Has a nice launch and docks and is free with your room rental. Otis311 (Gladiator) and I both keep are boats there.

there havent been any black flies around for the last few months. Launch at Treasure Cove. Ask for John Cey, He will take care of you

This will be hard for you guys to believe..lol.. but only the female black flies bite. They say "deet" can help but won't prevent it all together. In Midwest Michigan they tend to be the worst by the water in August!

I was at the lake this weekend, the flies were bad in the Northwest bay but no problem elsewhere on the lake.
Stayed at the Treasure Cove, Great place to keep your boat and real nice people there.
