Default WHYC Fun Run Saturday 7/28 - Weather

Update for all of those that plan on attending the Winthrop Harbor Yacht club Fun Run on Saturday out of Northpoint Marina (WI/IL border).

Plan on being in the water by 10:30am
Head out of harbor at 10:50am
Leave for Racine at 11am
Be at yacht club for cocktails at 5pm
Dinner at 6pm
Raffle at 7pm

If weather conditions on the water do not allow us to run at this time we have an alternate plan:

1. Party on the docks (several boats will be in slips on C and F dock)
2. Hang out at the yacht club, outside games will be setup
3. Cocktails/Dinner/Raffle as planned
4. Actual run will be on Sunday at same times above

Thumbs up

We had a blast...It was an encore to last weekends CPC Poker Run in my book.
Weather/water conditions made for some fun running.
To Rick and all who put this together...A big thanks for another great day out on the Lake.
Back4More and crew.

Considering the weather conditions early Saturday I think we had a great turnout for the 1st run. There were 35 boats at lunch on Saturday.

For Sunday's run we had 20 boats. The 51 Outerlimits was backup and running after water in the fuel issues on Saturday. We also had Fred out with his 36 Skater, that sure sounds tough with those big engines. Dean from TAOD was at the start with his helicopter and Candyman hooked us up with the airplane that was at the poker run. He took pictures during the run.

Smiling Bob took several Saturday morning and I am sure he will post some when he gets a chance.

I want to thank everyone that helped with this event including Mark for his great MC work. Very nice job Mark!

We had great support from our sponsors and the tables were full of raffle prizes. With all of the support we had we were able to make a donation to Make-A-Wish for this kids. That was a nice touch given everyone's great support.

All in all not bad - 2 runs, raffle prizes, donation to Make-A-Wish and all for $15 a person!

Good job Rick! Glad to hear everything went well! Wish we could've made it, but my wife was out-of-town and I was being a boat-whore on Saturday in the city. Next year!

My Excalibur broke halfway to Racine: STRBD Fuel tank pickup got some crud in it.
The fix took ten minutes, but put us beyond the back of the pack.
My navigator sent me into the wrong entrance of the marina.
So we docked way late in Racine.

But still had a great time!!

I wish I wouldn’t have had a commitment for Saturday night, I would have loved to stay and do it again Sunday!

Thanks for putting it together!
