Default DUAL DOMINATORS ON BLOWER MOTOR-idle too high

540/871.Dominators from a 900SC reworked by Chuck Nuytten.I or anybody else can't get the idle below 1100.All 4 idle screws backed completely off.All 8 butterflys are closing. They are boost referenced. Its a smooth idle but high. The carbs were worked on before i got them so i don't know what was done.HELP

I'm no expert but is sounds like you may have an intake leak...running lean or the base timing is too high.

if all the throttle plates are closed, it has to be getting air somewhere, try spraying carb cleaner around all the carb matting surfaces and the intake, see if there is a leak.

Blowers will bend the throttle shutters when the pop thru carbs. Make sure they are closed and even. If your convinced you don't have a air leak the next thing to do is retard initial timing. Talk to your engine builder.

If the carb plates are drilled you may need to fill them,if you have 8 holes in them i would reduce it to 4 and try,if they are not drilled you have air leaking in somewhere, the new dominator carbs i have been getting from holley have really idled down real nice on na and blower application. If you cannot find leak you might have to try a different set of carbs
