Default 1st Offshore Boat..What to buy?

I want to get into offshore boats !! So far i am looking at a 30 Baja Outlaw or a 32 Sunsation...Both with 496HO's..is there anouther boat that i should be looking at??
I want to have enough room on the boat to hang out and sleep if need be.

What price range?

Do you have a truck to pull it?

Also think about insurance $$$

Yeah, what he said.

Where ya looking to boat?
Do you have any boating experience at all?
What kind of boating do you want to do? Poker Runs? Weekends?

I had a buddy that moved from a ski-boat to a 32 Sun several years ago, and on his maiden run, he nearly killed me and my wife. He realized it right away, and turned it over to me to show him how to run the boat - not that I'm an expert, but at least had a few years experience. It's a much different kind of boat.

I saw your post on the lift question while I was eating lunch today - I always turn off Avatars at work, and that is how I usually recognize people. It actually was useful, and logical. I had to go back and re-read it to make sure it was actually under your name.
Now, do what Craig said, and go back to posting useless drivel like me

Get a Sporty Bayliner with racing decal package.

Take Sydwayz's offer, not only will you get a good boat, but you will not kill yourself and others if you go to the school. ( well at least you will be a safer driver) .
Seriously, what ever boat you buy ... take the course

If your thinking about a 32 sunsation or a 30ft baja - go to the owners forum section and do a search. You should be able to find out the good, the bad, and the ugly. IMO if you are boating offshore I would not get either. Check them all out no matter how long and tedious it may seem. I searched for 3 years for the perfect boat and finally stoped with the 28 pantera. BUT every boat has it strengths and weaknesses and they are different for every buyer.

I have been in a 30 baja with twin 496's and there was not much room to work in the bilge.
