how many of you guy's run synthetic oil in the 525 merc motor's ?

I would love to. However, last week I spoke with Merc. Racing folks and they said to run Merc. 25w40 non-syn. So that's what I'm running. Teague says no problem to run synthetic in his mag. articles though. I would also like to know if any are running synthetic. The new syn. Mercruiser motor oil is NOT for Merc. Racing motors. The Mercury Racing branch is different from Mercruiser or Mercury.

I have every since break in. Mobile one 15-50

15/50 Mobile 1 every 25 hours.

Mobil 1 15w50 always in my 500 efi's

Mobil 1 V-twin only ....every 20 hours

Mobil 1 15-50. Last change after 30 hours it looked great.

Mobile 15-50 in 575SCi's with 430 hours.

Just did a valve job due to leakdown (tired valves).

I could still see the crosshatching on the cylinder
walls.

Good news to hear. Can't really say much more about a product's effetiveness than that.
