If so, what are you getting for gas mileage with nothing in tow?

I have a 07 new body style 2500hd chevy with the 6.0 gas motor and the six speed trans. Around town I average just under 14 and on the highway about 17.

I have my reading in liter per 100 km. but what was impressive is my 2500 6.0 4 speed transmission was not using less gas than my 2500 8.1 5 speed transmission... so if I had to choose again, I'd go with the 8.1!!!

If you want to figured in miles per gallon. I used 17 liters per 100 km on highway, and 34 in city.. I think 1 US gallon is roughly 3,9 liter and 100 km = 62.5 miles.

So, I'd say I was getting 15 mpg on hway (and test was only hway) and 7 mpg in city (test was only city and I ain't driving slow)...

does it make sense? I guess...

Had an 05 6.0L and after that, I'll never own another one! 12mpg off the dealer's lot. You might get 15mpg, but that's only if you burn the whole tank at one speed on a trip with no hills. can't even pull itself up a slight incline on cruise control without shifting down 2 gears.

Not to mention the resale value of the gas burning 3/4 ton trucks aren't ****. I had to write a check to sell mine.

A friend of mine bought one a couple of months ago with the 6.0, and is already b**ching about the mileage, 11 to 12 around town, 15 on the hiway with cruise at 75 or so, but his real complaint is towing his 07 271 Formula Fastech is the 9 on the hiway..
