I have a 1995 Baja 32 with twin 502 EFI mercs (415 hp), bravo drives, and 26 pitch Bravo1 4 blade props. When I go for some speed and trim the outdrives up a little bit, the boat wants to porpoise heavily. Is there a fix for this issue, or is it a problem with the hull design. I can fix it with some k-plane, but that cuts speed. I can't get this boat over 71 mph, and it's bouncing at that speed. Help!

Hey there Roadrep I worked at a marina in Harrison Twp. MI. that sold BAJA and worked on many. The 32 had a hook in the bottom to help it get on plane easier. The 24 OUTLAW did as well.Be CAREFULL the 32s also had a tendacey to turn left violently at wot.Have you ever run the boat with 3 blade MIRAGE props? Thats all we used back then on those. Ya know 71MPH is not that bad for that boat, they were made to be a go fast pleasure boat for yuppies.

drive height being raised by a set of 2'' shorties will help the b1 is a better prop if you raise the drives 1 to 2'' and that should stop it. it made a big change in my 24ol ran out of prop at 6000rpm 83.2gps and no bouncing with the shortie. art

Anything I've read about shorties on a Baja is they don't like em unless your running BIG power.

baja raised the drive height on a few of there models including the 36/33/29 back around 02 or 03. art ps thats what hp boatsare about spending money every couple of yrs to go faster
I started with a stock 24 ol with 330hp and have spent twice what I paid for it with add ons and motors
but over 17yrs its not bad really I could never be happy with a 65mph boat I hope to break a 100 one of these days
