Just like the title says folks, this could be a culpret to the engine shutting down I am exp's

Crankshaft Position Sensor, located under the harmonic dampner on your MPI.

No reason to feel like an ass, you may not have one. I think I was recalling the 8.1LHO motor. If you don't have that sensor which really is designated a CKP, and works in conjunction with the CMP then I have another lead for you. If you can provide me with a serial number so I don't continue to feel like an ass.

I will have to check. I mess with the lsx vortec motors a bit, thats where I rec CPS from. I will let ya no #s to see if this thing has it.After messing wit all the connections it hasn't cut out again, so maybe I had a fix, or maybe it is just being a ****..lol
