WOW PB tested the new Velocity 28' w/500efi, they got 80mph out of that boat, damn. That must have been great conditions or Velocity is doing something right!!!! Although a 28' boat that weights 4500lbs that seems pretty light???
What do you all think?

That does seem a little light, it will be interesting to see how it runs in F1 this year!
I have always like the lines of Velocities, especially the 390. Now, if I can win the damn lotto.....

Bob Teague tested the boat in 3-5 footers and ran 81mph. The test area is usually flatter for high speed conditions, but on this day it was nasty. The prop was way too large for those conditions, but will turn it in normal conditions all day long. The new VR1 pleasure version runs an honest 85mph on GPS.
The VR1 model is lighter because it utilizes 100% composite material(NO WOOD)from top to bottom. All of the single engine boats, down to the 220 model, now include 100% coring in the sides. This ensures a rock solid lay up for the true offshore enthusiast.
The VR1 is new from top to bottom. These changes have made the VR1 hungry for big water while still showing the fastest top speed of all. 80 mph isn't shabby for 3-5's. 85 mph is even better in 1-2's.
Velocity will have VR1's at most of the major boat shows for you to look at. If you can't wait, call me at the factory and I will send you some info.
PS. Thanks for your comments MIke. Well appreciated!!
