I have a 97 283 twin engine Convinser and would like to know if anyone has experience with this hull combination with extension boxes or shorty outdrives?
Thanks.

I have a 283/300 with an extension box on it. It was the key to getting enough trim leverage to lift the bow. Most 283/300 have some hook the last few feet before the transom and removing that also helps with bow lift and more speed. I have a friend who tried a shorty on his 300 and went slower. He then tried a spacer to lower the drive and picked up several miles per hour. Hope this helps.
