Default How many powerups does it take for an ECU to re-set itself?

I have a hopped up 7.4MPI with a new program for a procharger install. I run alternatively between Lake Tahoe (6200MSL) and various, closer to sea-level water bodies. It seams that especially when I first start out on Tahoe after a sea-level trip, the ECU takes a couple of re-starts before it controls smooth operation. Any thoughts? Should I cycle the key a couple of times after a change in altitude?
