Default Ordering a new Ford...Help

I've decided on a V10 F250 and want to place an order next week. I know the model, packages, configuration. How do I know if I'm getting a good deal? I checked a couple of sites for invoices but they didn't seem to have much in the way of '08 information.

Yup...6.8 litre V10, 362hp/457 torque, the 5.4 litre won't hack it from a towing perspective and the diesel is a $6000 upcharge.

get the diesel it might cost more but it will also be worth more when you go to sell it

I've got one now...don't need it or the additional payments. Only towing a 33' short distances.

big mistake on the v10 . had 2, then went to the diesel 10mpg vs. 20mpg, well worth the 6k, plus I got killed on the resell, more like 10-12k less when you sell it. pay the 6k for sure.

The latest V-10 is an improvemant over the earlier models. It does the job and does it well, almost as good as the diesel and much quieter than the 6.0. The mileage driving around will be the same, but when towing the diesel will be better, as well as torquier in the hills, that's where the diesel shines. The V-10 is extremely soft on resale so the 6-6500k savings will be offset. I like the V-10 but prefer the 6.4 diesel for it's overall capabilities. Good Luck, and talk with Matt, he'll take care of you. Jeff

Indy,
I have a program where I can build and price anything that's out there. I checked it for '08 Ford's and I have the pricing for you. Shoot me a pm with your phone number and I'll be glad to build and price the truck out for you with dealer invoice and list price.

We have (5) V-10 trucks in my company (2002-2005): 1- 450 Mason Dump, 1- 450 Rack Truck, 3- 550 Enclosed Utility Trucks.
The motors are a pain in the azz to keep running right. The utility trucks were bought with 30,000 +/- miles from a public utility company and none of them idle right. We have thrown every sensor at them, scanned them and can't seem to get them to run right. The mason dump runs ok as does the rack truck but they are pigs on gas. They were fine at first but again there seems to be an issue with them not having the right fuel mix especially when loaded.

Just my personal experiences. I will never buy another V-10.
