Default Advantages of Race Fairing?

What are the advantages of a race fairing over a standard venturi windshield? Are there any advantages of wind flow over a shorter barrier? I was thinking of switching out my windshield for one, but wanted to see what others have experienced.

Most race clubs will not let you compete with out doing something with the windshield. Leave enough height to comfortably duck behind. I would think fountain could supply you with one. I had one made for a different boat and all the complex angles made the welder crazy.

Fountain does have one, not cheap, of course. My current windshield has an upward lip to keep the wind from coming straight in. I often wondered if it made an difference in performance?

I agree with the cool factor!

Much lighter than a glass windshield.
