Default New to boating

A little help please.

I just purchased (in the spring) a 1989 Four Winns 201 Liberator w/ a 5.7L Chevy small block (OMC sterndrive). The boat has been running great up until the last 2x.

Problem:
* The boat stalls on random occasions, I can be coasting from 1,000 or less RPM's or I can be cruising @ 2,500+ RPM's

* The boat will start up after several attempts, it seems that I have best success when I remove the caborator cover and force the choke.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had similar problems with my 1992, 4 winns, it turned out to be a malfunctioning anti siphon valve at the gas tank.

have you had any issues with the omc outdrive? I am looking at a 89 with a 460 and a omc king cobra outdrive. Kinda scared about the outdrive?
