I heard Checkmate is under new ownership.

What are your comments on quality, performance etc on Checkmate?

Thanks,

A few of the Baja Dealers in my area just started selling Checkmate this year. Thier boats look good but I cant stand the dash boards there are much to bland for me.

A lot of craftsmanship goes into the dash on a Checkmate. All their boats have the spots for the gauges tooled right into deck, instead of just attaching some vendor supplied panel.

I have a ZT260 and love it so far. Craftmanship seems to be on par with others in the same price range. No complaints here, except not enough time to use it. See the pics

i was real close to buying a new 2004 zt28 a few years back but there were a few things that turned me off and made me buy a baja. I still love the way the check looked but the cockpit was very bland and cheap to me. there wsa foot rest on the side to help you get out that were made out of plastic that cracked when my girlfriend tried to get out. also there was no way to get to the bow without going through the hatch on the bow which was real small. just some input that i had when i was shopping. good luck.

Had a 219 Persuader years ago. Little closed bow with a 350 Mag. Ran almost 70 straight out of the factory......wish I still had her for the small lakes and rivers. Fun boat. I had no qualms about quality or workmanship.

I sell Checkmates in Florida. They are still laid up the same way. Mold work and finish is flawless. I order alot of mine unrigged and custom rig them myself. Lots of pics of how I rig them on my website. http://liberatorfl.tripod.com/id15.html

ZT260 here on OSO has a 26 that runs over 100 and he loves it.
