I'm looking into moving into my first Cat. I work part time at Hockenjos Marina (Elbies old place) where the boat was apparently built at. The boat I'm looking at is a '81 30' Shadow Cat with twin 3.6 V8's (300 hp) evinrudes on it. I'm bascially looking for information on what its worth. The hulls in great shape, motors run well (claimed) but was told they are crap, the trailer is worthless and it needs an interior. Any info is greatly appreciated. The hull also needs a complete sand/wax since its starting to get rough on the top end. The guy is looking for 20,000 yet I'm told thats steep. Thanks again in advance for any help.

Prostock- Those OMC's are impossible to get parts for. We have one on a 86 Eliminator and took all last summer to find gearbox parts. You have to find someone who has a trashed one to get the parts almost. Great hull design- the interior looks trashed- GET A SURVEY.

If you get the boat let me know. I am close with Elbies two sons and they had a ton of info and paper work which I now have. I used to work at Hockenjos and know all the guys who worked there when they were building the Shadows. They could help restoring the boat back to the way it should be.

I have a 1990 Shadowcat with twin PM300.I absolutley love it.I put on setback brackets this year and a tunnel tab. With just me and light fuel I am in the high 90's.This summer with full gas 150gallons and six adults, some were women I was able to get 85.Great rough water boat.Built like a tank.
