Post A Sad Day For Our "Family"...

Reports are circulating that Steve Colombine (the owner of HTM), Ken Lane and two others were killed today when testing HTM's 30' catamaran at Castaic Lake in California.

Thumbs down

I just read on hotboat.net under tunnels that this news could be true.
Steve and his engine builder Ken Lane did not make it.
MrPump (member call name on hotboat.net) and one other person don't know. One of these two was air vaced to hospital. MrPump has one very fast SS24 that he raced.
This is very sad news to me. I met Steve,Lia, and their two daughters in Atlanta when they put my new boat in the boat show.
You couldn't have asked for a nicer down to earth guy liked Steve. His wife and kids are as sweet as they can be.
I just hope this is not true.
Over 3 members on hotboat.net have heard the sad news, Mike

Don't know if it is true but here is a link to a topic on the Hot Boat Board and it seems like some of the people posting are close friends of the parties involved.

I spoke to someone at Suncountry Marine who confirmed that there was at least one fatality. The accident was around midday.

We first heard through some personal calls, so details are hearsay. The latest reports say no lifeflight, not sure who or how many were in the boat.

As soon as I find out more, I'll post. Apparently, there are reports on the local news in So Cal.
