Default Would you race across the Gulf Stream for real?

HORBA has been getting a lot of inquiries lately in regards to the offshore race that was scheduled to take place in October.

It is our understanding that the race has been postponed to February of next year, around boat show time.

But that brings up the question of how many of today's boaters would actually do a race like that.

Would you race across the Gulf Stream and around the Bahamas for 200 miles??

They wanted to have 4 classes.
Historic Race Boats
Modern Race Boats
Poker Run Boats
Diesel Cruisers

Maybe someone who knows how to do it, could put up a poll to see if there is any real interest in that kind of racng anymore........ and if there are people out there that would actually commit to do it.

Most raace boats will not go 200 miles on fuel.

If my boat were properly set up for it, I`d do it.

Boy, times sure have changed...

Just add a couple bow tanks, no big deal! I doubt this race would be as much about speed as it would be about conservation of equipment.

Who is the brain surgeon who thinks crossing in February is a good idea?

I've been thinking the same thing since this was posted. February is pretty much the only month out of 12 in Florida that I don't boat. It's cold and windy.
