Default I can't find the right prop for 29 Fountain

I have an 05 29 Fountain with 575sci and Teaque Platinum outdrive. I have spent alot of time and money on props and still seem to have it wrong. This what I have tried;
30p Bravo R = 82mph @ 5200 boat handled poorly.
30p Bblades lab Bravo L #1 = 80mph @ 5200 hitting rev limiter easly.
30p Bblades lab Bravo L #2 = 77mph @ 5200
32p Bravo L = 76mph @ 4800rpm WOT
27p Herring 5b L = 82mph @ 5200rpm Hitting rev limiter
All are with 1/2 tank and 2 People. Planning is not a problem.
Any help?
Rick

Just to be clear, the 30L you ran from us I believe was stock out of the box. Not customized by us.

It looks like the Hering is running wonderful. What is its down side? Look at continuing with reduced diameter 5 blade propellers.

Also, drive height is a definate discussion point.

Maybe I am looking for to much? A 30p at 10% slip @ 5200rpm should be closer to 87-89mph. I was told Fountains generaly run at 10%. also both 30p L bravos are labbed from Bblades. I will get the diameter of the Hering next time I am at the boat. Just hoping for some other ideas. Thanks.

Hi Rick,

What are the serial numbers from the 2 LH propellers? There should be adjustments available.

Thanks

My Fountain slips just under 9% on either my 26LH or 28LH STOCK Bravo props. Also, a Bravo prop is really 1" less than advertised.

Try a non-labbed 30 LH. At wide open, run your tabs around '2' on the indicators and the drive should be somewhere between 4 and 5.

I suggest testing up there on FDR lake and not on the river because of the current speed of the water. That's got to be the fastest dam river in the world that doesn't have rapids.

What speeds are you getting from the 28P? Could the Teaque outdrive be causing more slip? I really like the feel of the Herring 5 blade. Maybe 82mph is all it"s got but I hear of 525s in the same boat in the mid 80s.

Boy, I guess those newer 29' Fountains are a lot faster than the older ones.
My bud has a 1997 with a rebuilt 525sc making around 550HP.
His boat goes 75mph running B1 props.
He's been talking about trying a shorty.
What do you guys think?

A buddy had a 04 with the ITS box and a 525.....could hit 80 occasionally. Not sure what props (i think it was a 28 4 blade bravo) but he had to put a 1 inch spacer to keep it glued to the water. Claimed it was a bit(h to plane and all over the place at WOT without the spacer.
