'06 Alpha has 300 Hp / 520 ft. lbs. Towing capacity is 9,500.

Earlier years' towing capacity was about 7,500.

520 ft. lbs. is not a lot for a 10k load.

Don't know if I'd install a chip - don't know how strong the Allison 1000 tranny is...

Short answer is No. According to the Hummer site, the H1 Alpha is only rated at 9300 pounds in the soft top version and 9050 in the hard top version.

As long as you aren't going cross country and staying some-what local you might be OK. Remember, its not always in the HP and torque, its also the handling and stop side of it to factor in, if you do choose to tow it, keep a safe distance from others at hi-way speeds and check into some good fluid for that tranny, possibly even another larger tranny fluid cooler would help also.
