Future Milestones and Legends

I have really enjoyed reading Brownies thread about milestones in boat design and the people behind them.
These great developments took place back in the 60's through 70's. What do you consider the milestones in boat design and people behind them of the 90's through today?
I'll start with propulsion. 500+HP engines and outdrives that are reliable for production boats were thought not possible back in the 60's and 70's

If you REALLY want to learn about the history of fiberglass boat building and the evolution of fiberglass, you should read "Heart of Glass" by Daniel Spurr. Fiberglass Boats and the Men Who Made Them. Great reading and factual information without needless sarcasm and prejudice.

Didn't mean to imply there are issues with this thread. Information should be gathered from many different sources and the book I recommended is jammed full of interesting facts. It's definitely worth reading.

I would have to say the "puter"! Which is allowing designs that weren't possible 10-15 years ago. Plus advances on laminates has really help push the industry forward.
