Default October Boating! Who would of thought?

Just as all of the leaves are falling and the people of Northern Michigan are buttoning up for the long winter. Here we are enjoying 80+ degree weather and swimming in Torch Lake. I'm not one to winterize to early. I like to drag it out as long as possible. Looks like this weekend is going to be near 70 and sunny again. This is rather unheard of up in these parts. Here are Pics of Torch River and one of the Torch Lake Sand Bar.

I had my boat out the weekend of the 5th & 6th of October down in St. Joe. Crusied down to Warren Dunes State Park....80*+ weather and water temps were 67-59*. The lake was as flat as an ice skating rink. While we were out there we ran into a brand new stepped hull 37' Outterlimits with Merc #6 drives and a pair of Teague's 565cid Whipple Quad rotored engines. He he boated over from the Chicago area and was running north....right down the shoreline just outside the sand bars. His boat supposedly does 113mph and after he went by me like I was standing still while I was at 90+mph....I tend to believe what he said about his speed.

Did you see anybody else out there on Torch Lake Josh? Or were you all by yourself ?

Every weekend I think it is going to be my last trip out for the year and then it ends up being 80+ again the following weekend. I love it.
