Default Possible POPRA or OPA 08 race location in Phoenix AZ

This is Firebird Lake in Phoenix, I think it would be a great location for a race, look at all that room! BTW this is a saltwater lake with tons of hotels bars etc in close proximity.

It is really not anywhere near big enough, I used to water d=ski there every Wednesday for years.

You could do an exhibition, but probably not good very good for a race.

They run Drag Races and some Super Stocks there. They tried it with Unlimited a few years back, it was a joke.

Sounds like a good place to race a bat boat.

It would be like NASCAR runing Martinsville, rubbin's racin!

Ken,

What happened to you bat boat deal? Do you still have the boat(s)?

We have decided to run ours in '08. Drop me a line, it you have not engined up, we can agree on engines.

The 383mag looks like a perfect engine putting out 350hp at the shaft. That will make this boat run 80+ (which is all you should run one at anyways and a bunch faster than they run them in Europe).

I do not see us making all the races, but Havasu, Long Beach (if we hold enough fuel), Pittsburg and Vegas are givens. In regards to Long Beach, I would talk to Kevin about running a shorter circuit for the little boats with small tanks. I would even offer a turn boat in exchange (although it would be cheaper to put in a new tank than bring the boat down from SF).
