Sad to inform OSO members that Canada's Grand Ole Man of Poker Runs passed away this morning.
Bob had been ill for the last couple of years and finally passed on and with that leaves a poker run family with hundreds of members up here without its patriarch.
Bill Taylor tells us that he figures Bob participated in more poker runs than anyone else anywhere.
Bob was boating actively up until this spring and when actually being on the water was too difficult he was always at one of the card stops to wave and wish us well when he couldn't participate.
Carol and his twin brother Carl made sure he came to one of his favorite runs to say hello late this summer at Rice Lake.
Bob McCoy always had time to tell a good joke and always made the newcomers that joined our hobby up here feel welcome.
Between his Canadian boating and his winters in Florida Bobs fleet of boats was always in tip top shape and immaculate in appearance.
He is one of the classiest guys I have ever met.I respected his love of life and I speak for all of us up here when I say we have lost a great great man.

I always loved watching his boats growing up, either on the G-bay poker run or the 1000 Islands. That Sutphen was classic, and his newer Nortech was a beauty.
My condolences to his family

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I have always had great admiration for him, his boats and love of the sport. It was a priviledge to know him and have him as a friend. We will miss him greatly. My deepest sympathy to Carol , Bob's family and many close friends.
